Gospel Shock

Gospel Shock

We are a new Gospel Choir who rehearse at Scorton Methodist Church, Scorton, North Yorkshire.

We sing a variety of Rock, Soul, and traditional Gospel in a modern fashion.

We have been in existence since late April 2007 and are performing soon for the first time at the "Gig On The Green" at Scorton 21st July 2007.

The group has members who are aged between 15 and 55 years of age.

Gospel Shock is the brain-child of Alec Jackson who writes some of the songs and arranges the music for the group.

The idea behind Gospel Shock is to create a group which performs for the community. We intend to participate in local Church Services as well as give concerts and record CD's.

If you would like to know more or contact the choir email Alec at becoolsingingschool@hotmail.co.uk

"I would like to really sing Gospel music but the GOD thing gets in the way!"

Why?

Singing Gospel Music does not demand that you are a regularly worshipping christian.
Singing Gospel Music is, like all other genres, a way of performing music. The G.O.D. word, if you are a non-believer is just a part of the heritage of Gospel music, and besides there is a whole host of popular music that spreads a message that has a Christian undertone. If you want to give it a go then do, don't allow fear to stop you.

We rehearse every Tuesday 7:30 till 9:30. We pay a subscription of £1 per rehearsal to pay for the room and Tea/coffee are included in the subs.
